The wild carrot, also known as Queen Ann’s Lace is just one of those summer time flowers that seem to be all over the place in mid summer but are often just ignored. The plant is really a variety of wild carrot and is edible but care should be taken because its appearance is similar to that of poison hemlock. The rest of this story is that I was out taking pictures of some other roadside flowers one morning and I saw this one and decided that it needed a bit of internet attention.
And so here it is… The tiny purple flower in the middle is the obvious sign of the right flower. Now the fun part is where you go out and look it up and find out the rest of the story behind this often neglected gem.
